About the designer

Courtney’s passion for design began as a freshman in high school. She was always fascinated by interiors and how things look, and her aunt inspired her as an interior designer. As a teen, this creativity overflowed into how she dressed.

As an Atlanta native, Courtney searched for an interior design program at a Georgia school. She began at the University of Georgia in 1993 and majored in furnishings and interiors. Her college internship with Ann Davis from Travis & Company led her to work within their customer service department for her first three years out of school. Here she learned the business side of interior design, but with a desire for a more creative outlet, she transitioned to Thomas Hayes & Associates and then Herndon Interiors. These opportunities helped her find her own approach to design, and in 2003, she ventured out on her own, establishing C. Walker Designs.

Courtney’s career began without digital shortcuts. Her working knowledge of the foundational tools of the trade bring depth to her design approach. The advent of the digital age brought thousands of design concepts and images to her clients. With endless inspiration, Courtney helps clients sift through and determine what truly reflects their unique styles in a way that will outlast trends.

When she isn’t seeking the perfect sofa, Courtney can be found playing on her ALTA tennis team or volunteering for her daughters’ school. As a wife, and a mother to two girls, Madison and Madalyn, her first and deepest love will always be her family. She and her family live in Historic Brookhaven in her grandmother’s former home, renovated to perfectly suit her style and family.
